Dates & Avocado Mousse

Dates and avocado mousse is a delicious and nut-free alternative to Nutella. It is perfect for desserts or as a tasty spread.

Ingredients

  • 100g of dates
  • ½ ready to eat avocado
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of boiling water
  • 1 tbsp of sugar

Method

Place dates into a mixie jar and pours hot water over them.

Leave for about 20 minutes until softened. 

If you used seeded dates, remove the seeds.

Using an electric blender, grind the dates with the water until well combined. 

Scoop half of the avocado and discard the skin.

Add a spoonful of cocoa powder, a spoonful of sugar and half of the avocado. Blend it until the mixture is smooth and well combined in a form of a paste. 

Transfer it to a serving dish.  

Tips

If dates are too hard, add a half teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda before pouring the hot water over them.
