Ingredients

  • 1 small red cabbage
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • ⅓ cup of water
  • 2 tsp of white vinegar
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of sugar

Method

Chop the onion into small pieces.

Quarter, core and shred the cabbage. Place all in a medium pot.

Add butter and water to the cabbage and cook on high heat for 10 minutes stirring from time to time.

Scatter over the sugar and pour the vinegar.

Add salt, pepper and cinnamon and turn the heat to medium. Add some more water if required.

Cover and simmer for further 25 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
