  • 200g white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 200ml vegetable oil

Method

Preheat the oven to 170°C (fan).

Prepare a baking tin (a loaf tin) and line it with baking parchment.

The recommended tin size is 15.7 x 28.3 x 6.2 cm.

In a large mixing bowl, crack the eggs. Use an electric whisk to mix briefly, then pour in the milk and continue mixing to combine.

Add the sugar and mix until it dissolves. Next, add the vanilla extract and oil, and mix all the ingredients together.

Sift the flour and baking powder, then add them to the mixture. Mix until well combined.

Divide the mixture into two parts, roughly equal.

Leave one part plain.

Mix the cocoa powder with two tablespoons of milk, then add this to the other part of the mixture and mix until smooth.

Using a spoon, alternate spooning the plain and cocoa batters into the baking tin.
