Simple Oven-Baked Fish

Do you fancy fish and chips? Try a healthier option by baking the fish instead of frying it in batter. Simply season the fish with butter, herbs, and lemon, and bake until it's flaky and cooked through.

Ingredients
- 360g of haddock fillets
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of ground white pepper
- a pinch of dried garlic
- ½ lemon, juice
- 1 tbsp of butter
- a pinch of fresh parsley, chopped
Method
Heat the oven to 180C.
Wash the fish under the running water and drain.
Prepare the baking tray and line it with aluminium foil overlapping the tray to allow covering the fish before baking.
Place the fish into the tray and season with salt, pepper and garlic.
Squeeze lemon juice and pour it over each piece of fish.
Put a bit of butter into each.
Scatter with the freshly chopped parsley.
Cover with aluminium foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Take out from the oven and serve with your favourite chips and any side you like.
Tips
We used in this recipe frozen haddock fillets which were defrosted before baking. The recipe applies to fresh fish as well.
