Sticky Chicken Skewers

Chicken skewers are a great snack for a busy day. Just sliced chicken breast thrown into the oven or on a grill and covered with sticky sauce. Great for all occasions!

Ingredients #
- 4 chicken breasts
For sticky sauce #
- 7 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce alternative
- 2 tbsp maple syrup alternative
- 1 tbsp of light brown sugar how to?
- 1 tsp of dried garlic
- 1 tsp of hot paprika
- 1 tsp of smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp of tap water
Method #
Let’s start by making a sauce
Place all sauce ingredients into a pan.
Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool down.
Let’s prepare our chicken
Cut chicken breasts into thick cubes and put them into a bowl with a sauce. Mix them all. Cover with cling film and leave for at least 1 hour to marinate.
Heat the oven to 220C with a fan.
Line the tray with aluminium foil.
After chicken breast cubes are marinated impale them on skewers.
Put them on a baking tray.
Pour over the top the remaining marinade sauce.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Serve hot with baked potatoes or fresh bread on the side. Perfect addition to a healthy salad.
Tips #
The sauce needs to be cooled down before combining it with the chicken, otherwise, the chicken will start to cook on the surface.
